: LMM, LBZ LTZ and other assorted letters...
rcpd34 03-18-2007, 12:01 PM Just saw the new LMM Chevy today for the first time and noted a few observations. The 3500HD is offered with the LTZ package; it's about time. Fully loaded w/LMM/Ally was a bit over $50K for the EC. The PYO's are not present, and the new aluminum wheels left me unimpressed. The center caps were argent and looked cheap. Still only 245's on the 2500's and 265's on the 3500's. When will GM get it? Ford is now offering 275's. The Dmax badges are no longer on the door, but moved up to the plastic part of the hood. I totally missed them the first time I looked. The exhaust looks very beefy, the aftermarket guys will have their hands full with this one especially when it goes into regenerate mode to burn clean the soot in the particulate filter. I plan on going back this week to drive it.
RJWesleyIII 03-18-2007, 12:06 PM the 2500 I just saw at the dealer had 265 on 17 inch wheels. It was a cc sb.

Was it factory? All the 2500HD's I've seen have been the same since inception in 2001.
Jaybeecon 03-18-2007, 12:18 PM 17" wheels are now a factory option on the 2500 and 3500.

How about tires?
How about tires?
I believe 265's are mounted on the optional 17" wheels

yep 265 on the 17's. look pretty aggresive for factory tires too.
rcpd34 06-03-2007, 07:28 PM Well, I just ordered a LMM/LTZ/Z71. We'll see how long it takes to get here.
05duramax073 06-03-2007, 11:39 PM It is about time they added a 17" wheel option. Still Ford does beat them on the wheel and tire combo's.

Yes. Also w/bed options; i.e. 350 w/a shortbed, snow plow prep w/sunroof and diesel, as well as power extending mirrors, bed step and others.... When wil GM listen??

Problem is the 17" wheel and 265s are too small for these trucks:o:

:agreed: But it's better than the 16" wheel and 245's they always came with until now!

10-4... A well designed 18" wheel ( the 17 is sorry) w/ 285s and a couple of cranks on the T Bars at the factory would keep alot of folks out of the aftermarket for these trucks... not sure why GM doesnt take advantage of the huge margins this option would bring in.

I could not agree more. GM needs to offer 17" std. and 18" and 20" as optional with several rim options to choose from.
Unfortunately, I think it has to do with GM wanting to claim better fuel mileage and towing capacities.
84jeepjohn 06-05-2007, 10:42 AM I see nothing wrong with a 17" rim. the larger the rim the more $$ per tire, and it grows exponentially.
I see nothing wrong with a nice selection of 17's and 8-9" width on them(standard). 18's or 20's as an option OK.
But for the Z-71: 17's and at least 285's up to 315's should be standard. It IS an off road package is it not?
Polarbear 06-06-2007, 09:43 PM Whats the width of the 17's? Still 6.5?
