My 2007 Chevy Classic truck's transmission has acted up a couple of times. Once the torque converter would not lock up. I cut off and restarted and everything was fine. Then, one day it acted like the torque converter would not unlock. Quit until today. Stopped, let truck idle while I went into store, came out to shift into reverse and shift range inhibited came up on dic. Truck has only 6200 miles. I have run a quadzilla for only a couple hundred miles and then removed it. Truck was programmed once during all this. Lately it is bone stock. I will take to the dealer tomorrow, but I was wondering what could be wrong. Thanks for any help.

Get a list of codes from your dealer and post them here. Make sure they check the transmission module, the ECM won't contain the trans codes.

The dealer is replacing the transmission control module. I will try and get the codes then. Could this have anything to do with the programmer? Thanks.

The trans controllers rarely go bad but it's the easiest thing for a dealership unfamilar with the Allison to replace. Once we see the code list we can tell you more.

Can a programmer cause the tranmission control module to fail. My problem started at the same time. It sounds like it to me. I am now afraid to reinstall at this time. Any answers?

I started getting the same thing when I installed my Edge Juice and activated the turbo timer function. Turned it off, hasn't happened since.

Had the same msg show up on my 03. The dealer replaced the NSBU and thought that would do the trick. As the service writer was bringing the truck out to me after service the msg came back on. The tech hooked the tech II back up and found the the trans computer was not getting full voltage. It turned out that the ignition switch was the problem.
I posted here with this problem, and others have had this same problem and the fix was the ignition switch. Have the dealer check the switch out.

Moronnie, Dont let the dealer see your programmer!! It could possiblily void your warranty! If you have run you programmer on a high setting, you could of possibly limped it!

The dealer has not seen the programmer. I only had it on 50hp. Never run it hard. Definitely has not been limped. I will run it stock a while and see if the problem comes back.
