I hit the cancel button when I noticed it was b2 bio diesel....it was $2.62
went on down the road got ulsd for $2.39
my truck is a 05 will it hurt to run this stuff, is it better or worse?
also if I can find trhe older lsd I should try to run that instead of the ulsd correct?

B2 is 2% bio, and 98% petro diesel.
B100 is pure bio-diesel
B50 is half and half
Your manual should specify the amount of bio % you can run, I heard something about 5%. Alot of guys are running B100 and liking it. The problems people were having , mostly seals being damaged by the different properties of the bio. I don't know that much with regard to the Duramax engines.
You are asking in the right place.

As long as you buy from a reputable station, B2 should work fine in your truck. Owners Manual says that biodiesel up to B5 is OK. Keep an eye on the outside temperature. Bio often tends to gel at a higher temperature compared to straight LSD fuel. But I wouldn't expect much problem with only 2% bio.
B2 will have better lubricity compared to straight ULSD (<15ppm Sulfur) fuel.
The older spec LSD (<500ppm Sulfur) will also work in your '05 diesel.

so if say you could find a station with ulsd, lsd, b1, b2 & b5 bio...
what is the best choice as far as mileage and not to damage the truck? and mine is a 05 not sure if it differs from the lbz about whats better for mine or not.
just want to get straight whats the best for my 05 all around if I can get it I'll try to run it if I know whats best.

If it were me for my truck, I would probably get the LSD and add the Stanadyne Performance Formula at 4 oz for every 15 gallons of fuel. (I always use the Stanadyne with every tank full.)
LSD fuel has a little better energy content compared to the other choices, so theoretically it would give better fuel economy. I have never used bio in my truck, but ULSD has cost me around 1.5 to 2 mpg compared to LSD, even while using the Stanadyne additive.
B2 & B5 would also be OK and ULSD would be my last choice.
Independent tests have shown that B2 or higher brings the lubricity of the ULSD up to acceptable levels.
