Finally catching some decent weather and trying to install my EFI I've had for over a month.

Having problems connecting, I get this screen below.

I'm sitting out in my truck right now and could use some help if you can.

Thanks,

Try a different USB port. Also make sure your key is turned all the way on. Unplug everything, replug it back in and try again.

Pull your Radio fuses, and disable your AutoStart. They are probably talking on the buss and won't shut the heck up.

I have never had an issue with the astro start causing problems however it seems some do have problems for some reason. If you want to disable it you'll need to cut the wire that taps into your purple wire of your OBD2 connector. Either that or unplug the bypass module. If it is found to be a problem you can put a toggle switch inline with the purple data wire and just shut it off when you want to use EFI Live.

Pulled radio fuse, turned the Astrostart toggle off, changed USB ports. Same problem.

The V2 says "connected to PC" and USB mode on the screen. The 2 lights on the right just above F3 & F4 on the V2 flash back and forth.

What about the On-Star, could it cause an issue?

See if you can download your Vette's tune. This will help isolate problem.

Also try the Scan Tool to see if you can connect.

I know it's been said, but RUN position but engine not running. This is as far clockwise as it goes before engaging starter.

If you downloaded the latest software off the internet, you will also need to reflash the V2 handheld using the EFILive_firmware.exe program from the EFILive menu area. If you used the disc it comes with, you don't. Firmware must match software.

You did load the USB driver, right?

I cut the purple wire like Tony suggested so the Astrostart is off line right now.

Good thought, I will try the Vette and see what happens.

Yes, its in the "on" position.

I did load the USB driver, I unplugged from the OBDII port and it said it could no longer communicate with the ECM.

Check the fuse for the OBD2 port as well. You can test this by unplugging EFILive from EFI Live and see if it is still powered up.

DOH!!! Yup, it's the cigarette lighter fuse, and it often blows if you've used it for things like air compressors or inverters.

If your cigarette lighter doesn't get hot, you can't tune or use a Tech2.

can you connect with the flash scan?

Yep, that was it:rolleyes:

I remember getting a spark while removing the factory Cigarette lighter. I put the 5 position switch in its place. Works and looks great!!

It worked great in the Vette also.

Thanks for the help guys, I knew I could count on you all!

Tony,

Now...what do I do with this cut purple wire??

Do you really think I need to put a toggle in?

Supposedly the next EFILive release will address some of the problems with aftermarket electronics not "shutting up" when they are told to. But for now, I'd suggest a toggle just in case, or even a nipple connector so you can unplug it to troubleshoot.

No you shouldn't need the toggle. Just hook the purple wire backup and all should be fine. If not post here or give me a call.

I have flashed mine hundreds of times and never had an issue with any of the bypass module I sell. I have had reports of people having problems but I wonder if there are other issues involved.

It is certainly a problem on LiLLY's sometimes, as I've had several problemchilds solved by disabling remote starts. Haven't had an LB7 problem, but I don't know if any of them had remote starts either. Certain radios have been problems as well on all models.

I've had a number of LLYs and 2003+2004 LB7s have flashing problems with the remote start add ons.

Since you have already cut the purple wire, installing a switch inline is no big deal.
