What have people experienced with their egr,

This makes it easier than having to read 21 pages of egr tech.

I had been doing a lot of testing with the plate. in and out, in and out. My MPG which was ~15 with my Big Ass tires before the plate and 16 after was getting worse and worse. I was getting concerned.....11, 10 Oh no! Haven't touched the plate now for a while and the milage has rebounded. I am now getting 17.5 and better around town now.

so are you saying that it was on the way down, you kept it plugged, and now its on the way back up ? i was running into same thing and finally just plugged back in. now i have the plate and want to install but was afraid of that happening again - are you installing plate and plugging the egr back in or leaving it off as well ? thanks in advanced

first new vehicle, first diesel, first post on a forum. This egr thread really drew me into this site and now I can"t stop. I don't know if milage or performance is better> I just aggree with everyone about dumping exhast gasses back into the intake side. I know how much crap I pulled from my "79's" egr channel on the intake manifold.

Love the forum and all the info, some of it is kinda hard to sort through.

Thanx!!!

I never unblugged the EGR motor. I only installed the blocker plate. There is no doubt in my mind that the computer is readjusting when the plate status changes.

After unplugging egr. my mileage went up by 1-2mpg. Still is up after a month or so. I've left it unplugged and installed the plate. I haven't driven it enough since to see about mileage, but appears to be about same as unplugged egr. That would make sense to me.
