We just started selling performace truck and car parts at our shop this past year. I installed 2 AEM Brute Force intakes on customers trucks last week, both identical GMC 3500HD 6.6 dually's (2001 & 2003 years). One of the customers came in yesterday very unhappy, he says the air filter gauge is sucked in to the red zone, making him doubt this kit flows better than the stock system. I didn't have an answer for him so I called AEM tech to find out what's up. I talked to several departments all well aware of the problem, yet they wanted me to talk directly with the engineer ( I guess so I here it from the horses mouth). Anyway he said this problem is caused by the relocation of the gauge from the stock air box to the middle of the intake tube. The high flow of air is now causing a venturi effect accross the filter gauge orfice, thus drawing the gauge closed. He said they have done some testing with adding a small length of hose between the pipe and the gauge (just to get them further apart) this solved the problem. I told him they should include a TSB notice in the kit explaining that this will occur so they wouldn't have so many calls regaurding this problem. I also suggested they update the kit with a short tube welded at a shallow angle for mounting the gauge. After explaining this to both customers things were fine. Just thought I would share this just in case any one had the same concerns. Jim
