questions about lifting/tires

I'm looking to give my trucka higher stance and a "level" one, what can I do with the torsion bars to level the truck out? and how many turns would it take? How do I do it?

Also, I'm looking for bigger tires/rims, interested in the BF Goodrich 315/70R17 which I believe is stock on the H2's that everyone is talking about and maybe some 17" Helo Maxx8. Could I achieve this with a lift and without doing any cutting/modifying to the body to keep away from rubbing and all?

Or better yet, what might be the largest size tire/rim combo I can do without modifying the body?

Any and all help is appreciated.

This topic has been discussed more then you probably want to read. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif If you do a search on "Lift kit" or the like I'm sure you will get lots of posts containing the info your seeking. Also there are a couple Lift-kit related posts in the DIY section.

Here's a link on how to change keys, which also kind of show you how to do the adjustment.

Im running a six inch lift with 315/70/17's, I put the torsion bars back to factory settings and I still had to trim the front facia a little. On the GMC's the strait square airdam in the front is just too close for bigger tires, and thats with any lift. But trimming it down is easier than you would think. Thats about all the modifying you have to do.

Mine with a 4" Rancho and 315/17/70's. Had to do a little trimming but wasn't bad at all.

I would like to know how big anyone has gone on the stock rims?

I'm new to this site as well, but the largest I've heard of anyone going on stock rims is like a 285/70/16. Most people seem to think that a 8 inch rim is better overall for those tires rather than the stock 7" rim. I think I said all that right.

The stock PYO wheels are 6.5" wide ...not 7".
