The chirping scenario..

I have a severe chirping noise that increases and decreases with the RPM's of my truck. Is this bad, will belt dressing help it, or should I just let my Svc. Advisor deal with it. I just crossed that magic 36,000 mile threshold and am now outta warrantyhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif!

2. The Big Bang

When towing between a 3-6k trailer in T/H mode Overdrive off I get this monstorous bang that makes the whole truck shudder between 2-3 and 3-4 mostly replicated on mid-throttle accelration. This is not normal......and I'm worried shi*less about this. I have the 90h.p. edge and tow on lvl 2 and ride around in lvl 4. Still flog the truck here and there and have had the edge for about 24,000 miles truck has 36.4k miles now. Please gearheads lend me your opinions I had a dream of my allison tranny with a halo and wings flying up to the heavens above...Hope this doesn't mean something!!!

Thanks,

Mark

Just a thought on the chirping.....check the belt tensioner...it may have gone bad.

Tranny...I just don't know.

Throw a PM to GMSID or DMaxallitech or Patrick

First your not out of warranty totally. If you just crossed the threshold GM should in good grace cover any issues.

First as the Bac says could be serpentine belt related hopefully. Bring it in could be a mechanical failure and leave you stranded.

The drive train Thump is the adaptive learn I'm willing to bet and after a few shifts it will settle down. Most likely you don't spend a lot of time in T/H or you do with Juice on and now you've taken the power away and it must relearn.Towing even light exaggerates it more.

If you were to take a ride in my truck in the morning the first few shifts would make skid marks in your shorts and spill your coffee for sure.

one more thought on the chirp........if it's only chirping while the truck is rolling then it could be a universal joint.....mine went and it chirped like a brake sensor for a week before it started to vibrate....just a thought

Mine does this too. GM replaced a tensioner pully and the chirping went away.....for a few days.

With the Juice I occasionally get the bang your talking about. Seems more like a quick lack of fuel or something to me. A friend has the same problem. I have always thought it is a minor glitch in the Juice programing. Does it occasionally when I tow my fifth wheel. No problems have developed from it yet and hopefully none will!!
