: GM DID send me money for injectors

Can't remember if I ever posted the results of my application to GM for reimbursement on injector repairs. The truck was an '01 that, at one time or the other, needed all the injectors replaced.

I sent GM bills that totalled about $6,000 just for injectors. They sent me about 1/2 of that and said that was all they could 'justify'. Fine with me. Something is better than my expected nothing.

If you have an '01 or '02 that you spent money on replacing injectors, apply for reimbursement. They were "good" to me, considering the circumstances.

If you spent $6,000 for injector replacement between the 100K mile and 200K mile mark, why did they not refund the total amount? Just curious.

I agree, GM is stickin it to ya. Did you tell them how much it really cost you including hotels, lost business and whatever?

GM sent me a note with the check. If I cashed the check that would end the issue. If I wished to take them to court for more, then I was NOT to sign the check.

I figured they figured I would sign the check and cut my losses. They were right. Never expected anything and this was something. The issue is behind me and, like Satchel Paige said...."Never look back. Something could be gainin' on ya".

Larry, do you still have the voucher or was that part of your 'settelment'?

Eric,

Don't know what a 'voucher' is. They sent me a service request 1-228980872. In it it says....

"We have reviewed your request for reimbursement on the fuel injectors that you had repaired. Although we regret that we are unable to reimburse you the full amount you requested, we will reimburse you for the amount that pertains to the recall. We have enclosed a check in the amount of $2,910.71."

This came from Customer Relations Manager: Ciara Lampkins.

At the bottom of the check stub it states that acceptance of this check constitutes full resolution for reimbursement....

The main sheets talks about ...'understanding our position' and opens up the issue of legal appeal if I choose to do so.

The reimbursement claim form can be had by calling 1-800-204-0261. That is on the bottom of an extra Claim form I have here. I would call this number for a form or more information. It is a different number than the 'Recall Procedure' form numbers for both GMC and Chevrolet that go through their assistance centers.

If I were to parse their words it would be ..."the amount that pertains to the recall". I sent them all original receipts as per their request. One of them was NOT from a GM dealership (that one in Florida) but there never was a stipulation that the repairs had to be done by GM dealerships. If they disallowed that one, there is still about $1,500 unexplained from three other GM dealerships. I DID NOT submit anything relating to fuel rail leaks, pressure regulator, computer issues and any related expenses to the breakdowns. What they had was only direct injector repairs.

Well, how's the family?

I have to ask, how many injectors and how many visits?

Eric,

Oh! It might be in my files at the Florida house. I'll look around. Think it expires in November.

Joey D ------- You really don't want to know. Give you a clue. I was broke down along the road more than 20 times and made many trips to service departments all over America. Everything went wrong, repeatedly.

You have certain rights as a consumer that cannot be given up. That statement on the check may just be a deterrant, and may not be inforceable.

Many states will NOT allow you to give up your rights to recovery, just because you signed the check and cashed it. The duress of the partial recovery, and the intimidation of GM? I would talk to an attorney who deals with your type of case. You may get lucky. If you have a case, you could take it to small claims, and leave it in the hands of the lower court, and all it might cost you is the consultation fee..

I'd go for it.
