Does anyone know anything about pulling the front wheel hub on a 4x4 1997 2500 8 stud. I have to replace the bearing/hub as it only comes a complete unit. So, as I understand it, the brake disc is pressed on the hub therefore the hub and brake disc need to be pulled from the the drive axle together. Then the disc will need to pressed from the hub once the whole thing is off the truck. Now, the problem I'm having is, pulling the hub/disc from the the axle, when I put the puller on it pushes the axle out the otherside I'm concerned about what it will do if I start winding the puller, will it damage something? or will it just become firm when I start winding?. Maybe there is another way and it doesn't need the puller. Any help would be appreciated..
