http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gifI have a 93 suburban with a 454 and the 4L80E. The trans fuse continues to blow and sets the computer into limp home mode. Recently the transmission went into second gear and won't release. Has anyone had this problem or know someone who has? I have replaced the Electronic pressure control solinoid with the updated version, replaced the computer and a slew of sensors. Help!! I am not sure http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifwhat to do short of a couple sticks of dynamyte.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Broken Heart.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Problem appears to be in tranny. I freind of mine had problem with his a while back and it turned out to be a bad engine temp sensor causing his tranny to act weird. Also, check you wiring harness from tranny for shorts from chaffing.

Actually the initial problem came from a bad connector at the temp sending gauge sensor that was in the driver side head. Once that was replaced The truck ran beautifully for about two weeks then Monday went into second.

The tranny used to start out in first and as soon as you started to accelerate it would kick into second and stay. Now it doesn't even do that. I checked all the wiring harnesses and could see no visible chaffing, unless it is something deep in the harness requireing tranny removal to get to it.

I am going to drop the tranny pan today and see if harness in tranny came undone. Thanks for the advice snoman. With a little luck it is something simple. With over 200k on it it might just be time for a new one.
