Hey Guys, I have been reading along here for a little while but this is my first time posting. I have been through the FAQ's but am still at a loss. Here is the deal, I have recently lost a lot of power in my truck. At first I though turbo, but from what I have learned there should be heavy black smoke from any failure in the boost system. I bought a turbo master from Bill Heath and my air and fuel filters are good. I can't hear the turbo but any advise I can get would be helpful.

Have you been running the turbo master without gauges? This could cause some serious problems due to the extremely high boost you could be producing.

Check your fuel, first = 911 brew of 16oz power service additive, 16oz 2-stroke motor oil should help.

Then check the soot trap for plugged - take it out for a 70mph cruise for about 30 mins - that'll burn the soot off and blow it out.

How many miles are on it ? Our '94 3500 started dropping rapidly at 100,000 miles, when we finally had the time to put it down for a couple of days we found a lot... The vacuum line for the turbo was broke so waste gate was open at all times, the injectors made the biggest improvement though. When we put them in it made the engine sound like a diesel again, it had actually gotten so quiet there was no diesel knock until we put the new injectors in and back came the knocking and the power. Ours had 102,000 miles on original injectors.

Also our vacuum line was broke for the waste gate and the only black smoke we had was at full throttle on a hill.

96GMC6.5L- I have the turbo master on order, but do not plan on installing it untill I get guages.
GMCTD- I will start being more careful about my additive, and will let you know if this solves the problem.
65turbofan- I think you may be onto something, however, shouldn't I see a large drop in fuel economy? Or white smoke at warm up? I have neither.

Just getting past while I am punched out, I don't like that
