Is it ok to put the edge juice on a new pickup. Or is it good to wait a little until I put some miles on the pickup? Another question. I heard that the 04.5 through 05 duramax was not the best motor. I heard that the 01 through early 04 duramax lb7 was a lot better. That the 04.5 through 05 didn't get very good mileage and wouldn't run the LB7. Is it true?

I would personally wait, esp if you got a brand new truck to put a tuner on it. These trucks already stock, make tremendous power. Another reason I say leave it stock, is if you got any bugs in your truck you dont want any ? on warrenty. The early d maxes had injecotr problems, gm stepped up w/the warrenty.

04.5 lly here. No problems with the motor whatsoever. Also, while there are plenty of LB7s out there that will smoke me, there are more that I will smoke. So, don't believe everything you hear.
Id give your a truck a little time to break in before adding a programmer. But it's up to you. Like said previously if you wait and some warranty issues arise, you'll have an easier time getting them taken care of if you dont have a program installed or havent yet.

Haven't exactly got the truck yet. Just researching to see which one I want to buy. Thinking about just buying a new one. Since they are having such good rebates on the new ones where i live. Just researching to find out which one ya'll think is the best. Really want the six speed auto tranny.
