Contemplating my navel....not really...but wondering....

What is the maximum pressure that the Duramax intercooler, hoses/clamps can take before saying adios?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Dead.gif

A difference between the limits for the LB7 vs. the LLY, with the latter having plastic tank ends?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ermm.gif

Hypothetically speaking of course......

I don't think too many of us have blow up a intercooler or the hose ends. I think that most everyone running a fast duramax is replacing the extra boost with nitrous.

I think it would be safe to say that you could run as much boost as your stock turbo would put out and not have any problems with the intercooler or the hose ends. Now as for you turbo running at that kind of speed, that's another story http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif.

IIRC on Behr's Site i read the core and endtanks on an LB7 are Welded AL and will be fine up to 85PSIG boost levels. The silicone hoses i do not know. Although we are using the same hoseclamps the twinned dodges are running so..... in time we will find out the limits of the blue rubber.

At steady state turbo boost, i wonder what our multilayer headgasket will take before it pushes out?

Gee I wonder what kind of power we are talking about with a DMAX boosting to 80psi (aftermarket turbo(s) and all the other necessary mods)...granted you fuel that much.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif

It's hypothetical to me. The question came up when I was discussing with a co-worker the prospect of him going to twins on his Cummins.

CTD guys over 100 PSIG sometimes blow their end tanks..... mostly blow off their IC booties or even baloon and pop boots....

If you go buy the general dodge HP rule of 10psi is 100HP (40psi truck would be 400hp truck or close to it) then we are hitting 500 or so on on just #2 on stock turbos pushing a bit over 30psi(with crazy high egt's I will give you) if the math proprtion is close to the same and you can extraoplate that holy schnikeys!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif
