Well i'm planning on getting a mprp exhaust. Should i go ahead and get a 5" exhaust in case i decide to get crazy power after transmission. How much horsepower can a 4" handle and not get the egt too hot. I'm kinda worried that until I am able to get crazy that 5" will be too big and I will lose low end performance from not having enough back pressure on the motor. What do ya'll think????

I am running a 4" MBRP and it has worked great for me thus far with no issues. Heat is not a problem.

4" will do just as well as 5" at just about any power level.
Contrary to popular belief 5" will not make you lose low end power as backpressure is not needed on these motors.
5" is cooler.

I did the 4in and I do not have a tip on it. I wish I had done the 5in now. I like the look of no tip and wish I had the bigger pipe. I am going to put stacks on it this summer now.

The LBZ users seem to really like the 5" kits because they are a bit louder than 4". The LBZ's are very quiet and the 5" helps wake them up a little. 4" will sound very close to stock. It all depends on what you are looking for.

does the 5'' make the sound deeper or louder. Cause I have heard some duramax that sounded really deep and I love it the deeper it sounds.

chevy2dabone- It will sound a little louder, but mainly deeper.
I love my 5". Didn't do it for power though. Sounds and looks badace! Thinking about straightpiping it just to see if I like it.

I am thinking about the MBRP 5" single front pipe back kit, with muffler delete. When I got my Flo Pro they were loud, but now I think I'm getting used to it, so now I need more noise. This works out pretty good, as a buddy of mine is interested in my 4" duals.
