Hello all. I'm lost with my new 2004.5 lly. When I'm pulling my trailer that is only 2500lb or with out it the knocking is so loud you need the raido on and a/c on high to over come it. What is this knocking??????? Sound like a gasser that has a rocker at finger tite. other the that it doing varynice. I had this same issue. Not the ticking at idle, but a valve knock, first it was only audible while towing then i started hearing it unloaded at all RPMS. Mine got really annoying, like you stated, needed the radio to drown it out. Then it just stopped. Edited by: BMCD

BMCD How many miles did it take for it to be gone.

the dealer side it was a cheap grade of fuel. i got the same thing. he said put in some cleaner regually and it will clear up. takes about 4 tanks of gas though.
