: Boost all over the place!

Well this past weekend I went to Somerset, PA to swap out a moto bike, it's about a 6 hour drive. As I'm driving (cruise control set at about 70mph) I start to hear the turbo spool up much more than normal and notice boost is running 10-15 psi, this is on level ground!

This happened more and more as the trip went on, however it wasn't consistent. The majority of the time things were normal (70 mph, about 3-5 psi boost).

I'd try to let off the throttle or floor it to see what the boost did (when I was seeing the issue of overboost) and the boost gauge just immediately would go to 25-30 psi, but there was definitely a loss of power.

Truck gave a code of p0299 and I was able to clear with the predator.

Yesterday I went out and removed the boost stick. Word of advice to anyone buying one, GET THE EXTENSION. What a PITA to deal with those connections.

I did check the air filter and MAF sensor, they both looked fine. Didn't clean the MAF sensor. Is carb/choke cleaner safe for that thing?

I thought this could maybe be a loose fitting in the intercooler hoses somewhere? I forgot to check this yesterday.

Any other suggestions? I haven't been able to replicate it w/o the boost stick on, but I also haven't gotten any decent length trips in the truck.

Rubbing alcohol is probably the best thing to use

Electrical parts cleaner. Pick it up at Radio Shack.

Hmmm, an overboost condition. I think you were right to remove the BS. You need to determine if you can repeat it without the BS installed and go from there.

What version of the predator are you running? Also, what tune did you have loaded?

V2.0 I was running the 100 tune. Have since backed it down to 85.

So far no replication of the problem, have about 100 miles on it.

I've also noticed quite a bit less smoke when on the pedal hard. But this is with 85 hp tune vs. 100. But the boost stick is removed so I figured it'd stay the same. Does the ULS diesel fuel smoke less? Boost isn't any higher than normal at this point.

Seems odd I'm noticing this after my issue though. I know I might have less smoke if boost was unnecessarily high but that's not the case?
