I have changed out rr axle seal 2 times & it is leaking again, what am I doing wrong? 150k miles:confused:

Have you checked the surface that the seal rides on? Some times the old seal will wear a mark on the mating surface. Some times the bearings can wear causing the seal to stretch leaving way for fluid to leak out.

did you take the sleeve off the new seal? my friend and i did his once and found that we forgot to take the outer sleeve off the new seal. Once we did it the second time, all is well.

what outer sleeve? thought that the metal portion was part of seal.
