Hey,
I'm working on a, for some people, odd project! I have an old Range Rover Classic with a GM6.2 I have driven it for a couple of years, really love that car, however I could use more power especially on the hillshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif i have a brand new GM8 turbo but I don't know how to control the waste gate - any suggestions?
Another thing, is it common that is losses the oil pressure on steep hills - read extremely steep? What can I do to prevent that?

You could use the spring controlled wg-arm from a 92-93 6.5 or a Bill Heath turbo master (adjustable spring arm) for about $60, or even make your own version.

Do you have the turboside exhaust? downpipe? crossover?

Won't work on a GM-8 turbo, has a really short arm and the actuator sits vertical to the wastegate. Your in for some pretty heavy fab work to use that turbo I think.

buy a used 35mm deltagate from ebay for about $100 then weld it in the crossover........done. Then forget the crappy internal wastegate system, weld it shut.

TDG what won't work on the GM-8, I have a Heath TM on my GM-8 if that is what you were referring to. On the oil sounds like it's sloshing away from the pick up, not sure how much it will help but a dual remote bypass filter set up may give you the extra oil in the system to keep from losing the pressure, several folks I have read on other sites have custom built an extra deep pan, maybe you need to do same if this is a constant problem for you.
