When I start my 03 2500HD and with engine cold, it usually takes about 30 seconds before I get any charge indication on meter. After the engine has been run, after it sits for a while, response time is quicker but there is still a delay. Suggestions?

The delay is not a problem with your truck, as they all do that, this is caused by the glow plugs, air intake heater, and a designed delay in the charging in the alternator. Just relax and enjoy the diesel warming up.
