First time to this site and new owner of 07 Classic Silverado 2500HD, with what I've found from this web site the LBZ engine. Previos truck was a 99 Powerstroke and so I'm not on the same page as you guys are with some of the terms. I've read several posting of this sticky finger thing and blocker plates. No posting have told me excatly what these are for. All I've gathered is something for the egr valve. Anybody explain these terms or mods. Also I'm gathering from this web site that simple mods, such as intake and exhaust might set off check engine lights. Are these possible codes anything to worry about? Paid alot of money for very nice truck and don't want to hurt it, but would still like to tinker.

MOst of the time when you install a free flowing exhaust you will get egr codes also with high boost leaves you can blow the egr open so you block the egr with a plate and wire in a box they call a finger that will make the truck think theres nothing changed, I never got the codes but did install it,I will have a PPE boost controler and PPE egr code blocker for sell,Im getting ready to change a few things around and upgrading turbo so will be passing these parts on

What are your impressions of the PPE Boost controller with the LBZ? I had the boost stick on my LLY and was really happy, seemed to improve the overall performance. Not sure whether I will need boost control with the LBZ.

Thanks.

I like it used it on the hwy and it would keep egts down really low and I know they say you dont need over 32lb but its sure does fill faster up high in the 38 range

My concern is what happens after the plate has been on awhile. Does the soot start to build up in the blocked passage. Has anyone pulled a plate and checked to see if there is a build up.

It actually called a Finger's stick, because a member here, screen name Fingers, designed the stick. www.kennedydiesel.com (http://www.kennedydiesel.com) will have both, and instuctions on installation for ya. :)

Thanks. Another question. Can you put a ppe booster and edge on, or is the ppe booster basically a programmer. Kinda sounds like it but ot for sure
