I am approaching 36K miles. I am looking for ideas as to what warranty work I should request.
1. New Steering Shaft
2. New clutch pedal assembly (for ZF trucks)
What else?

Joe,
Go after them for a new front bumper also. There is an issue with them rusting out. If there is any rust getting thru the chrome, and since you're from Michigan I would bet there is, pitch a b!tch about it.Edited by: CrazyDaze

ahh....warranty blue's check list.. We see that quite frequently, and to be honest, we see them coming a mile away. Just make sure that these problems actually exist cause if you got 1 or 2 things on your list that arent broke, they will likely NPF the whole ticket leaving you ticked... Just advice from the 'other side'

Does NPF = not paying for?

No worries about getting warranty work approved (if you know what I mean). http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif
No lack of symptoms either (unfortunately). The steering wheel feels like it might come off when hitting bumps while cornering and the clutch pedal squeaks like a cemetery gate when it is hot out.
I'm really just interested in fixing design flaws (i.e. steering shaft for example) with any updated parts that are available. Speaking of which -- have you seen one? Is it substantially better?

and ......
- A/C accumulator replacement for the 2003 and 2004 Duramax trucks (expect June 2004 built trucks). This is TSB 02-01-38-007C. Once the outside temp gets to about 103 degrees and above, the AC can not keep up. Good luck in getting a Mich. dealer to do the upgrade. You would think it would be a done deal for the dealer to do the upgrade since there is a TSB, but this may not be the case. I spoke with a GMC owner who had recently been to a Tempe, AZ GMC dealer that refused to install the TSB upgrade, and it was 111 degrees that week! The dealer claimed the cooling was ok -- incredible. Fortuneately, my Chevy dealer has been very helpful in getting mine replaced.
- Tailgate strap recall. I don't think they will give you a hard time on that item, once the straps become available. Have them run your VIN to find out if your truck needs the new straps.
