What's engine over boost P0234 code? Is it something to be majorly concerned about? I have a 2001 GMC Duramax of which I installed a complete 4" exhaust from turbo, with a Magna flow muffler; and a K&N filter in stock box. Have run truck for 9 months with this configuration. No problems. Installed Superchip #2705 with perf. tow 65 hp. 2 weeks ago. Purchased a aFe stage 2 cold air induction 2nd hand from friend selling his Duramax. Was slightly modified prior (by him) as it wouldn't fit in rig. He cut out part of the box creating a slot for the intake tube to slide downward into air box and there's no rubber trim seal on top of air box. This created a lag under initial acceleration. After 65 miles (no towing) SES P0101 Mass/Volume Air Flow Circuit Range/Perf. Reset code. Towed 3200# bass boat up a grade and engine went into limp mode when climbing. Did this numerous times, but was able to pull over shift to neutral; then drive and power came back. After this happening numerours times I stepped into throttle last time and tranny seemed not in gear, then it seemed torgue converter grabbed and took off, at which time I received SES P0234 Engine over boost Condition. I've not changed my fuel/water separator for 30,000 yet no light coming from panel regarding water in fuel. Am changing filter this weekend. But still concerned about all these codes surfacing. Any suggestions before I take to dealer?

Sounds like to me that it is a Hyper Tech issue. Many are ,including myself on a 01 ,are running a Open Cell air cleaner and full flow exhaust without issue.

Your only other to do is change that fuel filter ,30K is to long of a safe interval. Also I'd check and make sure Mass Air sensor is clean. All you need is a good electrical contact cleaner.

My money is still in the HyperTech as your problem . The dealer might not warranty a overboost issue with a aftermarket air cleaner setup.

<DIV>Mackin; For clarification, it's a Superchip but what do you mean by issue. Also, how do you clean the Mass Air flow sensor with the contact cleaner. Before I take to the dealer; I plan on reinstalling the stock air system. But can you tell me what an over boost issue might be? For clarification; the engine rev'ed up to about 2500 -2800 rpm before the torque converter engaged. Could this have caused the overboost code? As you can tell; I'm new to diesels but have loved the power even stock since I got it. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks </DIV>
