No duramax in this truck, but the DD8v-92t and Allison give it authority
over the binder.

That's an old H.E.T.T. it's used in the Army to trailer heavy track equipment. There's a new model out now, and it's even larger.

Is it a 2 cycle?

yes, all the detroit diesels were 2 cycle from the 1930's until they quit
making them when the EPA complained about the smoke. (somewhere
around 1980).

The 8V92TA implies that the engine is a V8 -- with 8 cylinders of 92 cu. inches each. --- and turbo charged. -- thte A ilmplies 'aftercooled'

Somewhere around 450 HP. which in the mid 1970's was hell on wheels.-------

It uses the CLBT 750 Allison which is the offf highway version of this
tranny instead of the HT-750 -- intended for trucks.-- then Allisons largest highway truck auto because the gearing is different.

The CLBT has progressive shifting through all 5 speeds whereas
the HT-750 has a 'granny gear' that you can't progressivelyl shfit out of.
meaning that under normal conditions you have to start out in second gear, but this piece of freight won't move that way, so they have a transfer case to get the overall reduction you need to ship freight
and with the progressive transmisison--- you can get the gradability
to move 200,000 lbs GVW on a 20% grade.

Not exactly a highway truck because it is 9 feet wide and with a 5th wheel weighs about 40,000 lbs. but crapping out of power is not
something it usually does.
