Is there somewhere a guy can buy or download the software required to read these computers, must be something out there, i already carry a laptop with me everyday so if i had the software and a cable to hook it up i could see whats happening on the computer. Why buy a scanner when i already have a laptop, right?

There are a few programs out there that are free but I havn't heard of one yet that works on our trucks. You have to pay for that. I use a laptop and the software and cable/interface runs $350 from Ease diagnostic and there's other companies selling similiar products for laptop and palm pilot. google search "enhanced parameter scantool"Edited by: quantum mechanic
