I took my 2006 Duramax van in to get the fuel filter changed at the GM dealer. I always change the filter on my pickup every other oil change but my van has the 100K bumper to bumper warranty so I wanted a record of the filters being changed by GM.
When I went to pick it up they said they did not change the filter because they did not know it had 2 filters. A primary (pleated one that goes into a can on the van) and a secondary one which is the same as the ones on the pick ups. They only stocked the secondary filter so I'd have to take in in again. They didn't know that it had two filters. They also said the (primary-pleated) was $140 :wtf1: .
What a bunch of thieves. Plus, I spent 1-1/2 hours driving back and forth and didn't get my van serviced then they tried to bend me over and charge me $140 for the darn filter when it came in.

I just found them on line through one of the vendors at Lubrication specialist for $20 and ordered 2 of them.

I was buying them in a kit from GM, just under 80 dollars with tax. Came with both filters and the O rings needed.
Greg told me last week that he started carring them and the price is much better.

I wonder why the van has 2? 140 is definitly rape, illeagle. Seriously book time is 7/8ths of an hour, takes me 20 minutes and im not even gm good wrench certified.
