Hello fellow dieselers.

I am new to this board and have a question. I have a 2001 Silverado K2500. I use it to tow my 4000lb bass boat to tournaments. This is not a heavy load compared to most of you guys. I have NEVER had any problems with my baby and absolutely love it. I have received the extended warranty paperwork on the injectors. Do I have to wait until I have a problem, or can I just go get it serviced? I have been told by a diesel tech that GM tests the injectors after they replace them. Again, I haven't had any issues with this truck. Thanks again.

Welcome! If your good with your local dealer they may check your balance rates for free, they may want to charge you though for some shop time though(this isnt unreasonable IMO). Or find a member close with a snapon scanner or a tech2 or even a predator I believe and take a look to see how close to spec they are. Should take all of 5 minutes. I wouldnt really worry unless you have a problem though.

Beter leave this place now while you have a chance though. These guys can make owning your truck rather expensive, next we'll be talking you into a performance tuner and all kindsa other crazy stuff and you'll be out looking for mustangs to embarass. Owning a duramax turns into a sickness i tell ya, if you hang around here long enough you'll catch it.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Diesel power is more adictive than crack!Edited by: ratlover

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Clap.gifWelcome!! If it were me and I didn't notice anything, I would wait until I thought they needed to be replaced or showing signs of injector failure. If you take it to them and they test your injectors and nothing is wrong with them, they will probably charge you for it.

Thanks for the warning. However, I am a member on a bass boat board and am well aware of the dangers of being "involved". I would go to my boat tech with questions and his reply was" Quit reading that stuff on the internet." We tend to create problems that aren't even there when we read too much. This is a great site with a ton of useful information. I'm really glad I discovered it.

If it ain't broke....

I had to buy an Aluminum horse traile to put my fold out couch in. My wife just went crazy with the tinkering I'm doing with the truck. I don't remember... was there a disclaimer when signing up to be a member to this sight?

The only problem this site has created for me is a lighter wallet(although it has probably saved me lots so its almost a wash) excessive tire wear and a few stern talking tos from "the man"http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Shocked.gif Oh.....and many rolled eyes from females but screw em if they dont like the sound of a 5" straight piped truck and the smell of unburnt #2.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Geek.gif
