Hey,

Anybody heard of an update coming for the LLy. Supposed to increase milage and power. Sounds good to me. Mechanic in town told one of the fellas I work with that a tech where he works said that there is an update kit that puts new injectors in and updated software for the computer. He put it on his truck and said it really helped. Has anybody else heard of this?

I doubt it, but would be great if it did exist!

the same guy that designed the update kit for the LLY is down at Vero Beach in Florida with a bunch of leaf blowers attached to the front of his truck. His theory is that if everyone turns the blowers on at the same time they will be able to push Frances out to sea. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Sounds like a bad rumor. GM doesn't make money by surpassing vehicle design specs for a few hundred dollar profit from a power kit. They make enough profit and have their hands full just selling reliable vehicles. On the otherhand, wait a few months and the aftermarket will have all the toys you could possibly want.

So the basic consensus here is that it is just a rumor. Anybody else have any input on this subject? Any techs or anyone else know or have heard anything. I'll do some investigation this weekend and find out what is up. Maybe he did put some after market injectors on. I'll find out the scoop and get back to you all.

I would bet a 04.5 module would work on an 05. Somebody will give it a try no doubt and then we will have the answer.

Most prefer not to be beta testers with their new $40k+ truck. And on the otherhand, the more reputable aftermarket companies try to avoid the bad press of customer complaints from products that are rushed to market.

We are all Beta testers for GM. After a problem pops up over and over GM decides to address the problem. After determining what the problem is they can usually come up with an update to reflash the PCM to correct problems with fuel mileage, performance ETC. The problem is that they need to run it by UNCLE SAM to get emmisions and fuel mileage approval. I think they need to test the new parmaters for a certin number of miles before the Goverment will aprove the changes. Rest assured that the LLY will see some flash updates in the near future.

Just stumbled on this thread, thats funny chit.

Lets think out loud. Do you think its really true? I didnt think so. IF it was, where is the GM Performance Parts plug in tuner for out LB7?

Sounds like somebody was feeding a line. While aftermarket parts are avail to do what was mentioned, there is no way in the Generals green earth are they gonna do something like that...

I just aint happining. As Tim stated, I am ROFLMAO!

Well it doesn't seem like to far of a stretch really....the injectors part yes that maybe a bit out there...but programing....sounds feasible to me. Some peoples fuel mileage really stinks, maybe they have a program to help that out. Just my opinion of course.

My '04 lly will get 19-24 mpg.

If I don't drive over 55 mph, don't spool up th turbo much and don't have any hills or headwind. (I have done this, but it is suicide doing that speed when everyone else is going over 75 on a two lane highway) lolhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

Before I swapped out my stock 245's for 265's my fuel mileage hand calculated was just over 20 mpg. That was at a cruising speed of 72 mph for a 8 hour trip. I made this trip twice and both times the truck got the same mpg.The 265's got the odometer all fouled up...so...until I get a programmer I don't know how the 265's affected the mileage....or my juice for that matter. I seem to be at the extreme upper end for mileage on the lly motor....thats after seeing what others have acheived.
