How does this process work? Can you just show up at a strip and run? Do they charge? Any North Texas strips you would recommend?

Call for test nights and start time,Pay $10-20 entry at gate, TURN OFF A/C, ask where tech is, get truck teched in, ask where the sportsman/footbrake lane is, park and watch how the other cars stage at the tree, get in the truck when the call you to load up, (most tracks require long pants, shoes, short sleve shirt and seat belt) wait till the car in front of you leaves the line then go around the burnout/water box,(no need to drive through the water an pick up water on the front tires and drag it out to the starting line) slowly turn on both stage beams(light bulbs) on the top of the tree and stop , leave truck at idle, pick your right heel off the floor of the truck, NAIL IT as soon as you see the 2nd amber bulb light up and you will be between .500 and .550 reaction time. Do NOT wait till the green or your way too late and a F**d may get a jump on ya. After you get to the end of the track and start your trip back there will be a small ticket booth of some kind where you get your time slip. You will then either wait till they call you to next round or go straight to the lane again.

My first pass was a 12.47 in my street car and now I spend $20k a year on parts travel and entry per year to my local tracks. BE CAREFUL ITS ADDICTING!!! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif GOOD LUCK!
