Hey Guys, I have a 2002 Silverado 2500HD 6.0L and have been surfing for an answer to a problem. I ended up here in the diesel section at a thread about Blower motor resistors that control the heart/AC fan. I know my problem is the need of a new resitor unit and I have everything apart...BUT... I can't get the damn connector off from the blower motor. I have the rsistor unit having under the dash and I have been pushinf and pulling and wiggling the stupid connector with NO LUCK. I can see it with a mirror but can't see what the trick is to unhook it. Anybody got some directions for me. (I don't have the new resistor unit yet so I can't see what the connector looks like). THANKS!!!!

Hey Guys, I FINALLY figured it out. Here's how it's done in case someone else needs to do this repair. For anybody following this thread and wondering how to get the connected unhooked from the blower motor WITHOUT having to completely remove the cover of the blower, here is what to do. After I frogged around for an hour and a half trying to get the back blower cover screw out and cursing the thought of how to get it back in I found the answer. DO NOT remove the back blower cover screw!!!! Remove the front screw ONLY, then pull down the cover, insert a long thin regular screw driver or small diameter rod to the back left side of the blower and PUSH on the locking clip for the resistor connector as you pull outward on the connector wires and it comes out like a breeze. If only the damn Chilton's manual was worth anything it would have told me more than "remove the resistor assembly". Hope this helps!!!

a 7mm socket, with about 1/4" of the end of it filed off, using a slimline 1/4 drive ratchet is how to take the rear screws out....i have a "special" aka...cheap *** wal-mart socket i ground down for this.
