does anyone have any information on the true flow air intake tube regarding its effectiveness and if it will promote better flow, more flow, etc., than the stock unit ?

NOT BRAND SPECIFIC INFO BUT IF YOU SO A SEARCH ON INTAKE YOU WILL FIND MOST OF THE INTAKE TUBES MADE VIRTUALLY NO DIFFERENCE.

I have only read of two tests. One was stock with and without aftermarket intake. The result was no improvement in HP. The other test was with big HP box and exhaust where there was an 18hp improvement.

Seems to me there is no difinitive answer and more testing is needed.

thats pretty much much what i assumed as well - i was hoping someone had some numbers in regards to air flow, etc that would back up any claim of it helping or not - it has to do something be it good or bad ? The other thing im wondering is in regards to the intake tube, stock is plastic, most aftermarket are steel or close to it - does it being steel make a difference in regards to the air getting back there, flowing better and cooler as opposed to stock plastic piece ?

The LB7 True Flow has a smaller tube with 2- 90° bends in it. Not gonna gain jack with that one...

JK - the LLY tube is smaller than the stock as well but steel instead of plastic - is there any advantage with the True Flow Tube being steel but smaller ? It does have 2 bends as well, but not as bad as the LB7 from what i remember seeing

JMO...I would guess if the inside molding was smooth, the plastic would have the advantage because the plastic would insulate the cold intake charge from the hot engine compartment.

On edit:

Baring any 90 degree bends (apples to apples). Never saw a tru-flow before and my previous post was about intakes in general.Edited by: Amric

the stock inside molding isnt smooth all the way through, as it has plastic ripples in the middle where it bends ??
