Turn the ignition off...... press and hold the odometer reset button for at
least 4 seconds and the hours will be displayed

my 3000 hours have netted me 121,000 km, which is 40.3 km/hr which is 25 mph.

My truck has 82,581 miles and 2145.0 hours. Average is 38.5 MPH. Injectors were replaced at 81,797 miles.

My old rig has 52,674 miles and 1015.8 hours for an average speed of 51.85 mph. All is well so far and I hope it stays that way.

I have 79,389 mile with 2231.5 hours ...comes to 35.57mph average. My summer time average goes way down due to the dog that I leave in the truck with it idling during lunch and other occasions.

I think hours along with mileage does count on resale, as it gives the buyer some idea of how the truck was used.

I think what it means is that there is a correlation between the overall mph and the type of service the truck has seen. Low mph correlates to more idling, stop or go type driving, with more shifting, braking, etc. whereas higher mph means more hiway miles in the overall mix, with less shifting, braking, etc., Also, low mph may mean more short trips, commuting miles, etc. with the truck running at less than optimal operating temperature.


This is not entirely foolproof, however. There are other factors. Forty mph pulling a big heavy load is not the same as an empty truck averaging 40 mph pulling no load.


So one can read into it what one wants.
