What is the GM cost for the crossmember that holds the transfer case? Squashed mine pretty goodhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Do all the 4x4 HD's share that same crossmember if i go searching the bone yard? What are my options for scavenging? Anyone have a spare crossmember sitting in theier shed they want to let go for cheap?http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Stern Smile.gif

The crossmember should work since GM are good about using the same parts on vehicles to keep the price down. I had a 97 4X4 and took the skid plates off of an 89 4X4. I changed the 4X4 sticker to a Z71. When it got totaled I got an extra $2000 according to the insurance adjusterhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif

http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gifThis isnt very exciting and I'm sure the dodge and ford boys out there are ready for a good belly laugh but....

Took a wrong turn into a parking lot trying to get to taco bell. Instead of doing the right thing that would intail turning around after I found out the parking lot didnt go through(there were 3 buildings blocking my inital view) and trying to get back onto the road and go around and all that I figure, heck there are just 2 6" curbs and a median standing between me and some americanized/mexican bowel churning burrito goodness, Screw it I aint going around. Up one no problem but when i came off bam! Looked under later and she got pretty squished and I'm glad i had a skidplate for my transfer case. Chevy's ground clearance never bothered me before untill i tried to drive over a freaking 6" curbhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif I'm sure the ford and dodge boys are just waiting in the back ground ready have a good laughhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Ouch.gif Oh well, lets do some real world competitions, we can do the drive over the curb(since we should all be driving over curbs on a regular basis) comp witch I will decline and then we can line em up at the nearest lighthttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

Like i said, not very exciting and actually quite embarassinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif And a borrito run is cutting into my toy fund nowhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifhttp://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

No damage was going to get done(or so I thought, i didnt take into acount my truckhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif) so I figured what the heck, even if someone says something, no damage they cant really do anything(well they could but...) I thought my plow mounts hit at first....

I've driven over more curbs and misc. stuff than I care to admit. It'll catch up with me someday.

You must have came down pretty quick. I plow snow and stack it way back past the curbs and have never hit on my cross member. Most are 6 inch curbs and i'm sure theres a couple bigger than that as i've thought on more than a couple of times i would hit, just some very minor scraping. This is all with a skid of salt on the back(2700lbs). At least it did its job. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif

265's going up wasnt the problem, its when my fronts came down and my rears were on the median. Wasnt going fast either.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif Squashed my crossmember, truck got broken into again last night. This time instead of breaking a window to steal pocket change they broke into my tool box and stole a bunch of snapon tools. Havent really did and inventory since I wasnt in the mood but its going to be expensive. I did notice they got my 1/4" set in the nice box, man I loved that thinghttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif Been a bad weekhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

They got some of my tools(IR and snapon is pretty spendy so I can understand the mutated ussless POS taking that) but evidentaly they though a plow shoe was worth taking??? Any of you plow guys are probably laughing right now and thinking WTF? Plow shoes make good door stops but thats about it for you non plowers, only time you need em is some gravel and such.

It must have been a crack addict becasue in addition to actual valuable stuff they took

1 Plow shoe(never used of course, but they left its mate)
1 stock tow hook(left its mate)
1 Stock paper airfilter( they opened the box and left the box behind)
1 oil and cleaning kit for a reusable UNI air filter
1 Plastic POS tool box(walmart style) that I used to keep my tow chains(empty except for 2 clevises)
1 bottle of diesel fuel additve(they took the ctane booster but left the fuel treatment, evidently they believe a demulsifying agent is the way to go so they didnt bother taking my emulsifying suplliment)

I guess things really could be worse but man does this piss me offhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Get an alarm. I had my old truck broken into twice in ten months. Truck before was broken into aswell.
Why would people bother with a vehicle that makes alot of noise, when there are alot of others that don't.

Thief was smart enough to not set off the factory alarm the first time. Just broke the window, never opened the door(would have set it off). Maybe i will start another topichttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif
