anyway to decode the VIN #? I have been researching for another longbed truck and it would be much easier if the long bed and short bed had a character in the VIN.

None that I've found. They only identify the Year, Motor and Cab. I was looking for the same thing to use with Traderonline.com I'm looking for an 01' Ex-Cab long box 4x4 with Diesel or bigblock.
