I have an 84 6.2 k5 and was looking into a 4" lift for it. None of the web sites I went to listed the 6.2 k5 only the 5.0 and 5.7. I went to a local 4x4 shop and they said they never even heard of a factory 6.2 k5. He mentioned that since the 6.2 is a good deal heavier than the gas motor that I probably wouldn't get 4" in the front. Any truth to this? If it is true, should I get 6" springs up front and 4" in the back? Maybe reg 4" springs up front with 0 rate leaves added to make up the difference? Thanks.

I had an 83 6.2 Blazer that I put an add a leaf in each corner. Raised the truck about 2", it rode so much better,no more baby buggy feel to it, and it sat level. I ran 32 11.5 tires. Not what you are looking for, but a suggestion.

So normal add a leaves neted you 2"? Cool, I would guess that means the extra weight of the 6.2 was not a big problem. Thanks.

Finding a 4" lift for a k5 is no problem, it's just the guy at the 4x4 shop said I may not get 4" of lift from 4" springs since the motor is heavier than a gasser motor. I just wanted to know if there was any truth to this.

there probably is alittle truth to that, a 4" spring for a gasser will probably give you 4" or alittle less, what i think what u will notice is that they will sag sooner than if you had a gasser, mostly will depend on the springs, some are just stiff so it wont make a difference and some are soft made for articulation and those would net you less lift. but if there is any difference it wont be much, at most a inch, and like you said if so just add some zerorates.
