Just wondering at what RPM do you guys shift your trucks?

Try to shift around 2400 to 2500 RPM for most pulling. If I am loaded heavy I go a little higher. If I'm smokin' Rustangs about 3500http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif.

I shift at a different RPM point for each gear (lower shift point for 3rd, then add 200-300 more RPM for 4th, and so on).

No need to let off the throttle when shifting either -- the turbo lags just enough to prevent stressing the trans (although I have not tried this with a stock flywheel/clutch).

It depends how deep into the floorboard I bury my foothttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Seriously, throttle position plays a big role as well as how far/fast I wanna go. Like an old gasser, I can feel the engine 'nose over' when it needs a shift. At different throttle positions the 'nose over' (or loss of usable RPM's) happens a different times.

I do hate that 'automatic nose over' when the thing defuels. Yep, lunch sure tasted good... again.

Just putting around town, I usually shift around 1500 to 1800. If I'm pulling my 5er, no less than 2500.

This thing sure does fall on its face when you hit the rev limiter!
