The chime on my '03 DMax is excessively loud. I have checked the setting on the radio, which controls the volume (press and hold station 6 button with the radio off and the ignition on). The settings are normal and loud. Normal is loud, Loud is really loud. Can the chime volume be modified using the Tech II?

no, if you figure out a way to quiet it down, you will be rich! I dont know of anyway to do anything other then disable it.

You could always remove your factory stereo and install an aftermarket one. No more chimes at all! If you have on-star it won't work eithter but there are adapters to retail on-star! Keep in mind that if you do this you will lose warning chimes including back-up chimes, memory seats, low fuel, door/hatch ajar and others.

I contacted a company who has the know how and ability to make a device to make the chime quieter. We will see what reply I get.
