Hi to all:
I have had some kind of occasional rattling noise from my engine compartment for a while which I believe comes from the driver side. I was hearing it mainly when I was on very bumpy streets. I don't think it was my steering shaft since base on what I read here it was ot a clunk kind of noise but I could be wrong. It gradually got worse like something is getting loose. I try to find few times but o luck. Some times I tought It is coming from under dash. Any ways, today I went under the truck again with no luck. When I was looking under the hood I saw this nut is sittig on the frame rail next to exhaust heat sheild. I didn't see/feel anything loose or any bolt/stud without nut or even something similar!to this nut i that area of the engine. Any ideas from the guys who work often under the hood?By the way, my truck was in the dealer dew moths back because my power steering was soaked in fuild ad they told me the pressure line clamp was loose (It is soaked again! ). Could this loose nut be from something related to that?

Could've come off the power steering pump work, hard to tell. Did you check the top of your shock absorber?

Is the nut off the steering shaft bolt?

I checked the shock when I found the nut. If it was from the steering shaft wouldn't I feel something with steering wheel? I am kind of concern that something is gona fall off:eek:

that nut looks like on of the nuts on the intake. I know because when I took my intake off to install the the boost guage bung, I dropped one of the nuts down in the engine. It took me about an hour to get it out with a magnet :D.

Thanks, I'll look more around the intake when I get home.
