Is it normal for fluid to seep from the rear differential? Noticed this last week and know I haven't spilled anything on it. Looks like it's coming out the front/pinion seal? Level was ok as I checked it ...and actually just changed again. Truck has 16K on it.

Pinion seals can and do go bad. It shouldn't leak there. I replaced mine quite a while back and haven't had any problem since.

Dealer fixed my front pinion seal (supposedly) but it still leaks a little. I need to get it back in for repair.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Angry.gif

Mine looks just like that. Supposedly it was serviced for this at about 25k miles. I religiously check the fluid and it is never low so it's not bad enough for me to worry with it.

You should check to see if axle housing vent is plugged.

Hmmm, good idea. Didn't really know there was one but I guess there would have to be. Never been offroad so I'd be surprised if it's plugged but will definately check.
