Here's a stupid question but if I have CA emissions does this qualify for the Fed emissions or Non-Fed emissions category?

There is no mystery here. You will get the same results by unplugging it as you will with the plate. Except the plate has the added advantages of allowing the truck to run cooler.

I not so sure. I don't know what the ECM is doing when it looses the EGR valve as opposed to low-flow from the MAF test if anything.

Well I've now run 6 tanks through with my EGR disconnected and 2 through with my makeshift plate. I am seeing the EXACT same results both way. Right down to the mileage.

In fact I have had better mileage with just the EGR motor disconnected then I have got on my most recent two. Of course this would be chalked up to the uncontrollable differences.

I am however seeing quite a bit cooler temps. And i didn't even have a problem to start with.

And yes I plugged my EGR back in when I installed the plate.

I will most likely run a plate in the summer and just the EGR disconnected in the winter. Of course I want to compare warm up time in the winter between the 2 as well.

Why doesn't streetpro make an 'EGR cutout.' Once the truck is warmed up or whenever, you could just throw a switch, and wham, the cutout goes shut, no more EGR. . .

That would be an ideal solution for California trucks as well.

Yep, for them it would be one switch does the Cat and the EGR all at once. . . . .
