: My new office
haulin-rv 02-25-2007, 01:56 PM I installed a Ram mount and all I can say its a slick setup, if you run a laptop in your truck its worth the money. I run Microsoft Street and trips with a gps module, all my log books, and an Verizon internet card for mobile internet. It sure passes the time surfing the dieselplace.com and ebay. Only problem is now I have more time to surf and find things to buy for my truck:D.
_nar_ 02-25-2007, 02:05 PM Nice.
RickDLance 02-25-2007, 02:13 PM And You've got it on the right Site in that picture!!:thumb:
Unit453 02-25-2007, 02:15 PM How much does that wireless card go for approximately? Do you often lose signal?

Depends if you need a reg pc card or an express card. Mine is from Verizon and is an express card. Local they are $180, I got mine from a Verizon dealer in TX for $20.95 delivered. The monthly is $59.99. Reg PC cards are free w/ a contract.
AKDoug 02-26-2007, 02:34 AM I love the Old Spice deoderant on the seat and bottle of Ibuprofin in the cubby hole (I keep mine in the same place)...LOL :D

how do you concentrate on the road when you're typing on the computer?
haulin-rv 02-26-2007, 07:30 AM Isn't that why they put in the rumble strips? No but really, it only gets hard if I am on the phone, changing sirius stations, and typing:D.

How do you like Verizon's wireless internet service? Do you get good reception everywhere? I see that Verizon also has a Broadband service that they claim is much faster at 400 - 700 Kbps for $79.99/month vs 60-80 kbps for the NationalAccess plan at $59.99/month. Do you have any experience with their broadband service?
Can you bundle your Verizon wireless internet service with regular cellular phone service such as their family plan?
Thanks.

Bundled w/ a phone its $59 for national/broadband. The broadband is in the major cities and surrounding areas that verizon covers. Overall I would rate it as ok, there are good spots and there are bad. For me its worth it just for the ability to help pass time. They do have a 15 day guarantee, so you can try it. If its not for you just bring it back and all you pay is time used.

Do also you get good internet reception when you are inside a motel room?
haulin-rv 02-26-2007, 11:47 PM If a cell phone works, then the card should.
06bowtie_guy 02-27-2007, 12:58 AM That's awsome. Only question is why do you have the hood open??

You guys catch everything!! I was installing my Banks Six Gun.
Duratys 02-27-2007, 01:46 AM Does it swing over to the passenger side as well? How much interference does the passenger have to deal with when its mounted?
Duramaxed06 02-27-2007, 03:13 AM Ya I've had a card like that for my laptop for 2 years now and I love it. I was even able to catch a signal in a plane a few times, but your going so fast you loose it quick. Just like he said, if your phone works so does your internet. Seems like the perfect fit for him, doesn't seem like hes ever home with 200,000 miles on his 2006.
DURAMAX3500 03-18-2007, 10:41 AM nice . that old spice deodorants good stuff too
