In looking for a way to improve this forum, post on this thread what topics do you the reader need to be included as a quick reference for the new 6.5 owner, if there is a post covering it in the past you thought particularly useful or informative send me a PM with the link to it. Hm... sounds like the entire start page of the 6.5 will be full of those posts then as there is alot of routine stuff to cover on these things. A FAQ area would be an asset but then you guys would get boared with nothing to do, lol.

You could create a locked post such as a "How To section" with all the posts and threads your talkin about in it. Once a user is on that page they can search for what they're looking for by using their browser if you supply them with instructions at the top of the page on how to do that.

To do a search from internet explorer just hold down the "ctrl" key and at the same time the 'F' key (try it now) or look under the edit menu in your browser for the "Find on this page" comand.

Just trying to be helpful. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

Turbine Doc;

A couple of thoughts whould be a primer on mods in order of suggested order. PMD/FSD this is always coming up and Exhaust and coooling. If there was a locked thread with this stuff or FAQ then it might save the redundancy we see here and else where, seems to take awhile till people figure out the search function or don't know what to search for.

Is the discussion primarily 6.5 diesel specific (you can tell I read alot here thats why like these new Mods http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Embarrased.gif) ?

How about breaking down the discussions into 6.5 Turbo Diesel,Drivetrain-Suspensions and Soup to Nuts or something of that nature headings?

Nick isn't Mr 6.5 but I can put a good word in for you gents if there is a desire or need.

I'm not trying to segregate so no racial card please ,your welcome on the Duramax/Allison side too!

Would it be possible to organize some of the older posts into catagories. We have alot of repetition of themes over time. such as IP, stalling, scanning and trouble codes(a list of DTC's) no boost(black smoke), performance chips, exhausts, Intercoolers, fuel injectors. Perhaphs a list of vendors for different parts.

just a suggestion.

You can start a topic and move any posts you would like to those Topics and close the original IF it chops it up.

Then you can lock it and edit anytime. It will fall out of rotation on ACTIVE topics but if you go direct to the 6.5 forum it will be locked on the top just like the GTG forum.

You can start a VENDOR thread and pull what ever VENDORS you would like to be in that thread and lock it.

Once Nick stops screwing around and we have a TRUE HOME PAGE then quick links will be generated off of that.

Sky's the limit it's you guys forum! Try it you can always revert if it doesen't work out.

Before you close or alter the forum threads let Nick know and he can BU the entire 6.5 forum on the Portal if it doesen't do it on it's own ,as I know it.

Edit: Need help let me know.

Mack for now since the 6.5 is what I know mostly I'll stay in this I do drift over to the 6.6 once in a while and start drooling , I can't play in that league big $$$ even used DMAX is still a lotta coin, but feel free to pop in and add comment anytime, a lot of DMAXers were/are also 6.5. If this works here may want to leverage it in other forums until we get the new format, the times I've popped in over there I notice a lot of repetitive questions there also, could be handy to have the FAQs there also identified by links.

It takes all of us to put together interesting content. Whether researching the web for links and graphics or taking pictures for show and tell, Everyone likes a picture.

I'n the post tool bar 2 last images allow you to add pics, they have to be uploaded 1st from the source location be it a file or your cameras memory. I learned by trial and error, but it'sd almost self explanitory for even the computer challenged such as myself.

How about a list of part numbers for the umpteen or so items that you're most likely to run into as a 6.5 owner?

How about a forum for WVO users (mostly 6.5 or 6.2). I posted on the biodiesel forum and found only Dmaxer's who don't do it. We have a thread in the 6.5 forum that has diverged to several topics and is getting long. I think there is a need.

I had Nick re address the Bio Diesel to alternate fuels (any), another forum would add to band width demand, we are challenging it as it is, was not much traffic in Bio Diesel so I put the long thread from here to there.

Rather than continuing the extended thread break off into the different topics started within it as new threads in the Alternate fuels forum

I give another vote to the pictures idea.

I need to see a picture or two of the lower intake bolts on both sides with all the extra things properly attached to them.

I had my lower intake off and I can't figure out exactly how those little brackets (or clamps, whatever you wanna call them) that hold the injector lines steady go back on the lower intake bolts.

Electrical schematic diagrams and component locator. I'd guess that the OE diagrams are copyright protected (?) Much of the mechanical stuff is intuitive...it's the electrical end that results in the most difficult-to-resolve issues for me.
