Dodge finally gets a real crew cab. Specs are supposedly bigger than Ford and Chevy crew cab. Has storage area behind the crew cab seats. No word on engine/tranny specs
You can see pictures here.

Interesting. Seems like one extreme to the other. Wonder if there is any demand for a mega cab?

Ray, I would have to think there is. One of the top dings against the Dodge truck is their Quad Cab simply doesn't compete with Ford or Chevy's Crew Cab offerings.

I like the truck......but man, those wheels just look plain stupid. Really makes the truck look goofy.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gifhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Throw%20Up.gif

Wow..Dodge bringing a full crew to the market...Talk about choice...I really think people will go nuts trying to decide what brand when they have to buy a truck again...The competition is really gonna get tight..

Thought Dodge's smaller crew cab design was so trucks could fit in the garage. On the bright side, a longer wheelbase has more stability when pulling longer travel trailers.

Hopefully if they add this model to the line-up they keep the quad cab in its current configuration. I really prefer the door post to a suicide setup that ford/gm uses. If I were buying an extended cab truck - its almost a definate it would be the current DC quad cab setup. Edited by: EMSi

I don't know, for me there really wasn't a choice. I knew I wanted a brand new 3/4-ton crew cab long bed pickup with a diesel. I haven't read any good reports on the PowerStroke 6.0, and I haven't seen enough stuff on the Duramax to convince me it's going to last as long as I want it to. So I decided the Cummins was the way to go. Then I looked at the prices, and the Dodge was the best value as far as I was concerned. Choice? Sure, technically I had a choice, but it was an easy one.
The way I look at it, you'll buy a new Cummins if you intend on working your truck hard and keeping it forever, you'll buy a Ford or a GMC/Chevy if you're more concerned with interior room and plan on dumping it, or if you have brand loyalty to deal with. When Dodge comes out with the uber-cab, that will eliminate one of the reasons to buy something else. I think that Dodge is going after the 3/4-ton and 1-ton markets in a big way and trying to crush Ford and GMC/Chevy. I have no problem with this, does anyone else? http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif

True Td...I just bought a GMC Crew because I needed that extra room. I was about to buy a slightly used Dodge Crew with a Cummins but it was just a little bigger than the Ext cab GMC I just got rid of. Just could not do it with three kids plus carseats. I wanted a diesel but some dealers think that sticker price is a good deal on a 2004 leftover. Made me laugh. I could not pass up the gasser as it cost me about three thousand dollars less than what I paid for my 2002 Ex Cab. That's what choices are all about. When Dodge does come out with this mega cab, I will be extremely ready....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Big Smile.gif
