Yesterday I went through some mud in 4 wheel drive. When I would let off the gas it was making a strange noise like something was still rotating. I know it is not the tires, because it makes the same noise in 4wd doing a powerbrake and letting off the gas (no tires, shafts or anything else is moving. I can't tell if it is 4wd related or what. When powerbraking I just thought it was the antilock braking system but it would do it in the mud without using the brakes. I hope it ain't the tranny.

Like a grinding type noise??? A while back i was in the some mud going along and got spinning and when i let off the throttle a couple times i heard like a grinding metal-metal noise...i never got a definite answer, but i believe it prolly had something to do w/my wheel speed and the gearing of the 4wd...the 4x4 seems to work fine so...i dont know...Were you in hi or lo???

That is turbo bark. Kind of like a woop, woop, woop noise. Usually 3 times and each one is softer. Edited by: Max Power
