I'm looking at buying a used 04.5-05 LLY Predator Programmer mostly for checking/clearing codes(not sure what version it is) since I am already using the Edge tuner. My question is, will this used programmer be VIN locked or need any updating to make it useful as a tuner? Do all versions check/clear codes? Any input would be helpful. Thanks in advance. DR

Version 2.02 adds boost, reads and clears codes and checks injector balance rates...I don't think version 2.0 adds boost...Make sure you ask the seller if it is locked, or if it's ready for use...

I asked him. He doesn't know. All he said was that he used the programmer for 1 year then he removed the tune.DR

If it's local, try it before you buy it...If it's locked, I believe it's $100-150 to unlock it...PM sent earlier...

If he put the stock tune back in, then it is unlocked. You can check by plugging it in and then go to options and there is an option to tell you if it is locked or not. If the stock tune was but back it won't say it is locked.
I know because I just installed one on my truck and read the manual.
