I have a 2500 CC HD 4X4 GMC. When I drive around 30 - 40 and hit uneven sections in the road I hear a metallic clanking from what seems like the front of the truck. Almost like there is a loose piece of metal somewhere up there.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Check the Turbo downpipe , a small bracket there is know to crack, that may be what you are hearing.

I've got about the same sound in the right front suspension on my 04 GMC.
Didn't have it on any of the other trucks.
It does it at any speed, almost like a shock w/o a rubber bushing.
Dad drove it the other day and it was really noticable to him.
My parents just went to the dealer with the same "loose shock" feel in the front end and steering. Mostly during a turn. The dealer greases something on the steering shaft and said it wioul be OK. "some just need a little extra grease"???? They have had it back for a week or so and no problems.
