I finally found a Cummins! I am about the happiest person in the world right now, It is a 99 Quad Cab Shortbox laramie completely loaded, I love It. It has a aftermarket hood on it with a cowell induction that "V's" out from the dodge logo in the grill, looks sweet. It is a real one, under the hood it is open for the air, my questions is that it has the original hood insulation under it, which blocked the airflow, I want to take it out, But I really do not want to damage my paint or warp the hood, The hood is steel i think, dont know if solid or fiberglass packed, but will the removal of the insulation damage my hood surface? Thanks!

Look at this and tell me what you think. Call someone at NASCAR and ask them what they think.
It's called SuperTherm. (http://www.supertherm.net/home.htm)
That would be my first choice. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Approve.gif

How about just cutting an inlet area? Usually that insulation is for sound, not heat.

My 04.5 has it... Maybe because it is a "Laramie"...
