I have a 98 tahoe with the 6.5 in it. Now when i am driving the truck is fine until about 25-30 mph then it starts to shake pretty good. but once over about 40 mph it stops i was thinking that the wheel bearing are going bad. is there any way to check for that or is it just replace them and hope that solves the problem.
thanks in advance

Try getting your tires rebalanced first, and checking your steering stabilizer(shock). When my 98 2500 bearings went out they only vibrated when I was turning. To check for bearing problems, jack up one of the tires( under the lower a-arm) put one hand at 12 o'clock and the other at 6 o'clock, and rock the tire up and down. If their is little movement they should be ok. If their is lots of movement they are crap.
My 98 bearings went out after 150,000 I had a 6'' lift with 35'' tires, if they need to be replaced they are a sealed bearing with bolt flanges, not to hard to replace.
