I have a bad fan switch on my new 2006, it only works on 5. I can replace it myself since the dash comes off so easy. I know it's a waranty item, but the time it takes me to go 60 miles to the nearest dealer and then wait for them to diagnose, then order the part, then come back and wait while they fix it is bordering on rediculous for such a small problem.

I looked at gmpartsdirect to try and find a part number with no luck. Is there a better online source to look up interior electrical parts? If so, where is it?

The whole climate control unit will have to be replaced. The switch itself is not serviced. I can give you the right part # if you give me your vin. BUT, I would be willing to guess that that is not the culprit.

I would just go in and have them diagnose it. It may not be your control unit (switch). It could be an issue with the blower itself or the blower motor control module.

Sounds good. I have a friend who is a wrench for the largest dealer. Maybe he can pull some strings and get me in and out quickly. I hate taking half a day off for a dang fan switch.
