I have read many of the threads on how to do this but want to be sure not to mess anything up. I just got back from the dealer where they reprogrammed my UC6 HU from non-lux to lux. ( I think?) Right now i have no amp plugged in and want to make sure it was done right before I plug the lux amp in. How do i know if it was done right?
(I have the SLT3 package on my truck with the Bose sound system)
I would appreciate any help with this.
Thanks so much

Without your amp plugged in, turn on the head unit and press the 'auto eq' button in the lower right. If it doesn't say anything, then its programmed to lux. If it switches between Custom, and something else I cant remember, then it's still non-lux.
Now, assuming you have everything all wired up correctly for the lux amp, and the HU checks out, go ahead and plug that sucker in. Now when you turn on the HU and press the 'auto eq' you should have 4 modes: Normal, Rear, Spacious, and Driver. The HU reads these from the amp, so thats why it doesn't say anything with the amp unplugged - in LUX mode that is.

I just got the whole upgrade done and it sounds great. The dealer programmed it as a denali i think, whats the difference between the escalade ext and the sierra denali programming for the amp?

Sound fields will be different, as an EXT is a crewcab sized interior, and the Sierra Denali is an X-cab. Also, IIRC, the rear speakers get less power fed to them in the Sierra Denali setup.
My amp is out of a Yukon Denali, and it sounds great!
